A Safety-Driven mining company based in the Northern Cape has an exciting opportunity for a Strata Control Officer: Open Cast. The successful candidate will be responsible to take observations and measurements and to collect data about the rock conditions/rock mechanics of the workplace to enable interpretation and recommendations to the mining department.
Responsibilities:

- Ability to gather and analyse information- and demonstrate an understanding of how the issue may be part of a larger system

- Ability to communicate across disciplines and levels explaining theoretical and practical application
- Functional Knowledge and Skills
- Mining and MRM business processes, Mine Health System Act, Explosives Act (other legal), Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Skills, National Water Act (other legal)
- Functional understanding of IWULA Waste Management and
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- National Certificate (NQF Level 3) - Strata Control Certificate (Accredited by Chamber of Mines)
- Blasting Certificate / Rock breaking MQA equivalent qualification
- Degree / B. Tech Degree
- 3 – 5 years Strata Control experience in a mining environment
