A dynamic retail company is looking for a Buyer's Assistant to assist in the procurement of books, stationery, and lifestyle products to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships while supporting the broader buying team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing products such as books, stationery, pens, paper, plugs, and lifestyle items.

  • Support the senior buyers with order placement, tracking, and supplier communication.

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of key product lines.

  • Conduct market research to identify trends and recommend new product opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and assist with reporting requirements.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field.

  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in a buying, procurement, or merchandising role.

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
