A leading Agri-Business in Ladysmith or Newcastle area is seeking an experienced Key Accounts Manager – Wholesale to join their dynamic sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing key client accounts, ensuring excellent service delivery, and driving revenue growth across assigned territories. This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially savvy sales professional with experience in managing high-value accounts and leading teams in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Key Account Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all key client matters.
    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for new business.
    • Ensure client deadlines, expectations, and service standards are consistently met.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage account renewals in line with company objectives.

  • Sales Planning & Execution
    • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams for assigned accounts.
    • Analyse market potential and customer trends to develop actionable sales plans.
    • Implement field action plans to drive sales performance and increase market share.
    • Monitor account performance and generate reports on competition, product performance, and sales trends.

  • Customer Service & Market Presence
    • Address complex or escalated customer service issues effectively.
    • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and proactively manage expectations.
    • Identify opportunities to improve market presence, assess competitor activity, and provide recommendations to enhance sales strategy.

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Coach, mentor, and develop internal sales teams to enhance performance.
    • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance management processes.
    • Foster a positive workplace culture with open communication and teamwork.
    • Implement corrective actions and maintain compliance with company policies and legislation.

  • Analysis & Reporting
    • Review sales data, demand analysis, and account performance.
    • Consolidate and interpret statistical data to support decision-making.
    • Balance company objectives with client requirements to maximise profitability.


Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a commercial field.

  • 5–7 years’ sales experience, preferably in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.

  • Proven experience managing key accounts or high-value clients.

  • Strong computer literacy.

  • Valid driver’s licence.
