Job Description

A leading solar energy solutions provider is seeking a results-driven Technical Solar Sales Representative to join their dynamic Gauteng team. This role focuses on residential and commercial solar sales — not retail or supplier-based sales — and is ideal for a confident professional with a strong network and proven ability to drive new business in the renewable energy sector.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sales Development & Client Acquisition
    • Identify and engage residential and commercial clients for solar solutions across Gauteng.
    • Drive the full sales process from lead generation through to deal closure.
    • Conduct client meetings, site visits, and solution presentations to secure new business.
    • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to effectively match client needs with solar offerings.

  • Account Management & Relationship Building
    • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
    • Expand business through referrals, networking, and relationship-based selling.
    • Provide ongoing client support and ensure a smooth post-sale transition to the operations team.

  • Technical Understanding & Product Expertise
    • Apply technical knowledge of solar systems to confidently explain products and solutions.
    • Liaise with internal technical teams to ensure accurate proposals and quotations.
    • Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and new technologies in the solar industry.

  • Sales Reporting & Performance Tracking
    • Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
    • Maintain accurate CRM records and submit weekly progress reports.
    • Contribute to sales forecasting and business development strategy.

  • On-Site Engagement & Company Representation
    • Attend client meetings and site visits as required — no remote work permitted.
    • Represent the company professionally at all times and promote the brand in the marketplace.
    • Collaborate with management to identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential and/or commercial solar sales (non-retail).
  • Solid understanding of solar products and systems (technical knowledge advantageous).
  • Proven sales record and strong professional network within Gauteng.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Must reside in Gauteng — preferably East Rand, Sandton, or East Pretoria.
  • Office-based role.
  • Stable employment history and strong industry connections required.
