RPO Recruitment has a client which is looking for a SHE Manager to join their team of professionals in Boksburg, Gauteng.

- Deploy the site's global/cluster SHE strategy, policy, and standards to achieve excellent sustainable results
- Manage the SHE teams responsible to deliver Safety, Health, and Environment results
- Develop, deploy, and implement work plans to improve safety, health, and environment records of the site to develop and implement SHE strategy and improvement action plans
- Ensure that the UMS Safety and Environmental Pillars together with Unilever FWS are the single ways of working (WoW) on site
- Ensure that all findings from audits (both internal and external) are effectively implemented by the agreed due dates
- Ensure that all prescribed SHE data is delivered in full, and is available by the specified due dates at the required quality with supporting documentation available
- Provide advice to site Leadership on national SHE legislation requirements and implement relevant procedures and policies
- Drive safety and environment risk assessment and develop/implement appropriate controls
- Lead the SHE Pillar in accordance with ManEx
- Support the site Supply Chain team to reduce the site’s environmental impact in the areas of COD, hazardous & non-hazardous waste, SOx and CO2 emissions, and water and energy consumption
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever BBS Program and support deployment on the site
- Influence senior management and drive safety and environmental leadership through line management
- Monitor site legal compliance and ensure the site meets all local/ national regulatory requirements and Unilever standards, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements, and implement relevant procedures and policies
- Work closely with Global Health to identify and mitigate risks that may lead to occupational ill health
- Assist the site leader in developing and leading the internal crisis and safety committees; support the site leader in leading serious incident investigation and analysis
- Ensure on-time reporting of recordable incidents according to UL and legal requirements and advise line management in all accident and incident investigations
- Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses, safe behavior observations, and deep compliance audits
- Develop and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems, and participate in audits of other organisations as required
- Determine training needs and assist in the delivery of SHE-training programs
- University degree in Safety, Science, or Engineering or equivalent industrial experience
- Safety certifications required by local regulatory authorities
- 5-10 years of Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience
- Experience in Supply Chain operations
- Excellent knowledge of Unilever Manufacturing and SHE Standards
- Proven track record of analytical thinking and project management
