An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Warehouse Manager within a plastics company based in Cape Town.
Responsibilities
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations
- Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
- Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
- Audit and report inventory while making recommendations on which items to order and restock
- Cycle counting of stock is performed throughout the month and all variances investigated and resolved before month end
- Cross department issue and receiving of stock in the form of raw materials and finished goods and investigate and resolve differences between theoretical and actual issues/receipts daily
- Prepare annual budget
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
- Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees
- Produce reports and statistics regularly (IN/OUT status report, obsolete stock report etc.)
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided. Communicate with other departments to achieve overall effective results
- Responsible for security of stock and implementing procedures to pick up on discrepancies immediately
- Manage all company vehicles, vehicle licencing and making sure the vehicles are always roadworthy, neat, and well maintained
- Any other reasonable tasks requested of you

Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail ensuring accuracy
- BS degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management or business administration
- Valid driver’s licence
- Valid forklift licence
- High ethical standards
