A High-Performance mine based in the North West has an exciting opportunity for a Underground GCC Engineer - Shafts. The successful candidate will be responsible to ensure safety, health of employees (legally responsible as a 2.13.3.1.) and ensure efficient equipment operation and availability. Responsibilities:
- To ensure zero harm to employees and the environment by meeting legal and SHEQ regulations/ compliance.
- To ensure that equipment is well maintained and efficiently managed, i.e., equipment availability is good to ensure that production targets are met.
- To ensure effective project delivery to enable future growth and reach production targets
- To implement effective financial management processes.
- To ensure effective people management methodologies, inclusive of people development (subordinates vary between 200 – 400).
- To apply engineering expertise, conduct effective design checks/ apply appropriate specifications on equipment (quality & safety key criteria)
Requirements:
- B Engineering/BSc Engineering/National Diploma
- Government Certificate of Competency Mines and Works in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- 2 - 4 years operational experience within Mining/ Plant is essential
- Registration as a professional certificated engineer would be an advantage
- 2 year recognised junior engineering program training
- 2 to 3 years Project Management experience would be desirable.
- Valid Medical Certificate or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate.
