A well-established manufacturing company based in Epping Industria, Cape Town is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Developer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a solid background in sales and business growth within the packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business, maintaining strong relationships with senior procurement staff, and driving revenue growth. Responsibilities- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships, ensuring continuous customer satisfaction and retention.
- Engage and negotiate with senior procurement staff at customer interface level.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends and competitor activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of client requirements.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.
- Ensure all administrative processes, proposals, and quotations are completed accurately and on time.
- Uphold company standards and represent the business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Matric / Grade 12 is essential; a suitable post-matric tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
- 5 – 10 years’ proven sales growth experience within the packaging industry.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with senior procurement staff.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and QuickEasy is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the retailer-branded packaging environment.
- High level of numeracy with the ability to perform forecasting and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and lateral thinking skills.
- Strong administrative, business writing, and presentation abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute independent sales initiatives.
- Strong customer focus with a commitment to service excellence.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable, presentable transport are essential.
