A well-established manufacturing company based in Epping Industria, Cape Town is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Developer to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a solid background in sales and business growth within the packaging industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing new business, maintaining strong relationships with senior procurement staff, and driving revenue growth. Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Maintain and grow existing client relationships, ensuring continuous customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Engage and negotiate with senior procurement staff at customer interface level.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of client requirements.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals.
  • Ensure all administrative processes, proposals, and quotations are completed accurately and on time.
  • Uphold company standards and represent the business in a professional and ethical manner.
Requirements
  • Matric / Grade 12 is essential; a suitable post-matric tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
  • 5 – 10 years’ proven sales growth experience within the packaging industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with senior procurement staff.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and QuickEasy is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the retailer-branded packaging environment.
  • High level of numeracy with the ability to perform forecasting and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and lateral thinking skills.
  • Strong administrative, business writing, and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to plan, manage, and execute independent sales initiatives.
  • Strong customer focus with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable, presentable transport are essential.
