A dynamic manufacturing company located in Germiston, Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimize plant operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and results-driven professional to ensure smooth production processes, efficient resource management, and adherence to quality and safety standards. The role requires on-site presence in Germiston and occasional travel to other facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure efficient and effective production.
  • Manage and coordinate operational teams, including scheduling, performance management, and training.
  • Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resources, and operational reports.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow and production efficiency.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs and ensure minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a management or supervisory role within the recycling, waste management, or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong understanding of recycling processes, material types (e.g., plastics, paper, metals), and current market trends.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations (e.g., Waste Act, environmental permits).
  • Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
