RPO Recruitment’s client in the Mining Industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Mine Overseer to join their team of professionals in Burgersfort, Limpopo.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct and assess Quality Management within sub function and recommend remedial actions where necessary to ensure adherence to TQM principles.
• Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations.
• Diagnose incidents and accidents by completing root cause analyses and take corrective action.
• Conduct risk assessments. Stop work in unsafe areas. Ensure safety programs are executed.
• Provide input into functional planning. Interpret functional plan and develop sub-functional plans.
• Ensure operational plan is implemented.
• Manage the efficient and effective utilisation of resources.
• Optimise systems and processes continuously to ensure production efficiency targets and operational plans are met.
• Optimise the core operational internal processes and internal supply chain and resolve operational conflicts.
• Manage, control and improve production and mining operations, including contractor performance.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency
• Mine Overseer Certificate
• Bachelors Degree in Mining Engineering
• At least 5 years’ experience as Mine Overseer in an underground environment
