The Junior Quality & Food Safety Administrator at RPO Recruitment is responsible for establishing and implementing Quality Management and Food Safety Programs in a food manufacturing setting. The role includes monitoring the performance of these programs and initiating continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Initiatives Support:
  • Assess feasibility, host supplier audits, and initiate/monitor CAPA execution.
  • Review and approve supplier-related documents with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with QC to review specifications from a quality perspective.
  • Customer Complaints & Feedback:
  • Investigate customer complaints and complete NCRs and feedback forms.
  • Site Quality, Regulatory, and Business Certification:
  • Support implementation, host audits, and initiate/monitor CAPA execution.
  • Food Safety Program Monitoring:
  • Oversee and improve programs such as:
  • Food Safety Manual
  • Document and Record Control
  • Product Development
  • Specifications (Raw Material, Packaging, Finished Product, Services)
  • Non-Conforming Materials and Rework
  • Complaint Management
  • Food Safety Plan (FSSC 22000)
  • Identification, Traceability, Recall, and Withdrawal
  • Allergen Management
  • Training
  • Pest Prevention
  • Maintenance Program

  • Quality Management & Food Safety Programs:
  • Develop procedures and record implementation.
  • Monitor performance indicators and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance the FSSC 22000 system (version 6.0).
  • Audit Participation:
  • Participate in at least three external food safety audits.
  • New Product Development Assistance:
  • Assist with NPD work as needed.
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA) Management:
  • Process COAs in accordance with organizational requirements.
  • Ensure COAs/COCs are issued and attached to delivery documents.
  • Scan and file COAs/COCs received with deliveries.
  • Report non-conforming suppliers to the Food Safety Manager and Procurement Manager.
  • Track and request outstanding COAs/COCs and update the 'Outstanding COA Log'.
  • Pest Control Officer Duties:
  • Conduct monthly pest inspections and complete FS20-2 Pest Control Inspection Checklist.
  • Monitor pest control measures, including rodent proofing and bait stations.
  • Report pest activity and manage quarantine products.
  • Schedule stack fumigation and maintain FS20-3 Pest Activity Sightings Log.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Food Science or Technology.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in food manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of Food Safety testing instrumentation is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Data entry experience and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse and production environments with frequent standing and walking.
  • Ability to perceive small color variations.
  • Hand/eye coordination and dexterity for handling products and instruments.
  • Potential requirement to QC check new products according to specifications.
