RPO Recruitment’s client, has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Resident Engineer to join their team for a long-term project in East London. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing and managing the construction, execution, and quality assurance of Water Treatment Works (WTW) and Wastewater Treatment Works (WWTW) projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the construction and commissioning of Water and Wastewater Treatment Works projects.
- Ensure compliance with engineering designs, contractual agreements, and regulatory standards.
- Supervise contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections, assessments, and progress reporting to stakeholders.
- Implement quality control measures and oversee materials testing to maintain project standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, ensuring efficient resolution of engineering challenges.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors, and consultants.
- Maintain accurate documentation and report on project milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: BEng / BSc Eng / BTech in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Registration: Pr Eng / Pr Tech with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) – Compulsory.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-registration experience in the construction and management of Water and Wastewater Treatment Works projects.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and project management practices.
- Proficiency in engineering software and project management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to relocate to East London for the duration of the project.
