Job Description
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Logistics Superintendent within a mining company based in Burgersfort, Limpopo.
Responsibilities
- Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Safety Toolbox
- Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
- Ensure an enabling climate/culture
- Manage labour stability by minimising labour turnover
- Ensure that labour complement in line with budget
- Achieve HDSA/EE targets for the Section
- Manage performance against set targets and competencies
- Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
- Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
- Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
- Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels.
- Conduct recruitment interviews
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
- Resolve Customer Complaints
- Develop and maintain relationships with Marketing, Port Authorities, Transnet Freight Rail and Road Transport Contractors and all other role players
- Develop and maintain relationships with critical suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal customers
- Interpret Furnace and Pelletizer requirements and forecast the 12 Month Raw Material Plan
- Develop the Raw Material Supply Strategy, including the transport plan
- Oversee that Raw Material Orders, based on stock levels and consumptions, are being placed
- Maintain the company’s ore and reductants stock balance.
- Liaise between the Smelters, Pelletizer, Mines, Internal and External customers, and suppliers
- Manage transport
- Manage the Spoornet schedule and rail network on site
- Manage the Raw Material handling operations
- Manage the Raw Material Stocks
- Manage Raw Material non-conformances
- Manage Reconciliation of Raw Material tonnages with Suppliers and Transporters
- Liaise between Marketing and Production regarding the Final Product requirements and maintain and improve the Final Product Management Strategy
- Manage the Final Product Stocks (High Carbon)
- Manage Final Product quality
- Manage Final Product crushing
- Manage the dispatch and transport of Final Products
- Manage Reconciliation of Final Product tonnages with Customers and Transporters
- To be the SAP Super User for all Inbound/ Outbound Logistic
- Manage Raw Material and Final Product Accounting in terms of consumption figures, specifications, ad hoc requirements, and stock levels
- Manage service level agreements with customers and suppliers
- Jointly define annual maintenance requirements and planning with site maintenance personnel
- Maintain and improve systems and controls in place, that will ensure that the site is maintained at specified performance and within prescribed technical & legal requirements, that will permit a safe and environmentally acceptable operation, and to meet the required production-rated capacity at minimum life cycle costs
- Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence
- Initiate and implement the integration of improvement projects
- Manage the Section costs
Requirements
- Relevant Degree or Diploma
- 6 years’ relevant experience
- 2 years’ managerial experience
- Experience in logistics and mineral processing would be advantageous
- Change Leadership/management skills
- Building Strong Teams
- Salary: R8M/yr - R7M/yr, negotiable
