Job Description

RPO's client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Drive (VSD) Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining variable speed drives (VSDs) both on-site and in the office. This role involves interpreting electrical drawings, performing board-level repairs, and ensuring optimal performance of drive systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Fault find and perform board-level repairs on variable speed drives.
  • Run testing of variable speed drives to simulate and resolve faults.
  • Install and commission variable speed drives.
  • Keep accurate time sheets and enter labor hours into the job management system.
  • Perform fault finding on equipment on-site when required.
  • Source parts and create quotes, including estimation of labor costs.
  • Support the technical department in drive installations, removals, and board-level repairs.
  • Record necessary information on reports to maintain a historic database.
  • Exercise accuracy and professionalism in repair work.
  • Manage all assigned jobs as per company requirements to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in an electronic technician's role.
  • Solid understanding of electrical principles and electronic signals.
  • Proven ability to fault find using electrical drawings.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Hands-on experience with variable speed drives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical or Electronics fields.
  • 10+ years of work experience in the electronics field.
