RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Senior Merchandise Planner to join their team in Durbanville, Western Cape. This role is responsible for planning and forecasting the merchandise range within a designated business unit, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct range reviews and make recommendations aligned with budget and strategy.
Prepare bottom-up plans that support range review strategies.
Translate bottom-up plans into detailed buy plans with supplier timelines.
Lead monthly reporting meetings focusing on Open-to-Buy (OTB), Inventory Health, and Age of Stock (AOS), ensuring alignment with division budgets.
Propose new orders in collaboration with the Buyer.
Manage stock levels through new orders and clearance strategies.
Monitor and control spend against the approved budget.
Oversee store allocations in line with strategic objectives.
Perform ad-hoc trend analysis and reporting as requested by executive leadership.
Identify and implement process improvements within the planning function.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Merchandise Planner with a focus on replenishment.
Strong background in data analysis, forecasting, and inventory management.
Good understanding of the retail industry.
Proficient in data analytics tools such as Excel, SQL, and BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
