A well-established manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Sales and Technical Support Manager with a strong engineering background and a passion for customer service to join their team in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical expertise, the ability to manage sales performance, and a proactive approach to resolving customer issues.
Responsibilities:
Provide exceptional customer service and technical sales support.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
Manage sales budgets and monitor gross margins.
Attend to customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring responses within 24 hours.
Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions.
Conduct preventative maintenance programs and customer equipment audits.
Identify and drive measurable technical and process improvements.
Liaise between customers, planning, and internal sales teams to ensure accurate forecasting.
Understand customer operations to deliver tailored packaging solutions.
Requirements:
Engineering Degree (BTech or BSc in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
Proven experience in a technical sales or customer support role.
Strong organisational and relationship-building skills.
Proficiency in Excel with the ability to generate reports and analyse data.
Self-motivated, energetic, and able to inspire others.
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
