RPO Recruitment’s client in the FMCG industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Demand Planner to join their team in the Western Cape.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate local forecasting process, at a DFU level and co build short, mid-term and long-term demand plan with Sales & Marketing teams.
  • Propose demand plan jointly with distributor based on statistical analysis (considering market trends, customers vision, expected exceptional, guidelines issued from previous S&OP cycles).
  • Perform gap analysis versus budget, month M-1, previous year both in volume and value.
  • Prepare Sales and Marketing forecasting meetings jointly with distributor document including key assumptions and risks & Opps.
  • Facilitate forecasting meetings with BU Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Collect information from Marketing on new products Phase In, discontinued products Phase Out process (short term vision).
  • Update short, mid, and long-term Demand Plan in JDA according to forecasting meetings and S&OP+ discussions and decisions.
  • Conduct historical data cleansing / explanations in JDA.
  • Perform forecast accuracy analysis (MAD/BIAS), identify improvement action plan, implement, and track.
  • Review incoming promotions advise on availability and timing and decide on forecast changes.
  • Ensure the Supply feasibility of the forecast planning on short term horizon (in collaboration with the master planners).
  • Alert on overstock or low stock on short and mid-term for his/her brand.
  • Challenge and propose optimized safety stock levels in collaboration with master planner.
  • Assess distress risks on short and mid-term and act towards Sales / Customer Service / Master Planners to decrease risk.
  • Be proactive and propose improvements of actual demand process.
  • Develop tools & reports, and support team in optimizing supply chain performance for the Business Unit.
  • Engage internal & external stakeholders on continuous improvement project (collaborative forecast, data sharing).

Requirements:

  • Fluent in English (Read / Write / Speak).
  • Own Transport.
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management / Business Management (or relevant tertiary education).
  • 3 – 5 years working experience.
  • Advanced Excel (non-negotiable and will be assessed) and MS Office modules.
  • Statistics tools performance and analysis.
  • Clear understanding of forecasting.
  • Capability to challenge / convince.
  • Data management / capability of synthesis and navigate from / to macro – details.
  • Basic French (read / Write / Speak).
  • Supply Chain APICS Certification.

  • APS
  • JDA
  • IBP
  • BW
