A reputable cold storage company is looking for an experienced Junior Refrigerator Assistant, with knowledge of industrial cooling systems and hands-on expertise in ammonia-based refrigeration, to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will assist with the operation and maintenance of refrigeration equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the maintenance and servicing of refrigeration systems.

• Support senior technicians with fault-finding and repairs.

• Operate equipment in line with safety and quality standards.

• Monitor and record refrigeration performance.

• Ensure compliance with ammonia safety protocols.

• Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance tasks.

• Report faults, breakdowns, and potential risks to supervisors.

• Assist in the installation and commissioning of refrigeration equipment.

Requirements:

• CAT A License (essential).

• Previous experience working with ammonia-based refrigeration systems.

• Knowledge of refrigeration operations and maintenance.

• Ability to follow safety guidelines and work in a team environment.

• Physically fit and able to work in cold environments.
