A well-established textile manufacturing company based in Lansdowne, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to oversee daily production operations and drive continuous improvement within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional with a proven track record in factory or production management, particularly within the homeware sector (bedding, cushions, and soft furnishings). The ideal candidate will be hands-on, methodical, and skilled in leading teams to achieve optimal efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities- Oversee all factory operations, including production planning, workflow management, and staff supervision.
- Implement and manage time studies, line balancing, and efficiency improvement systems to optimize output.
- Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality standards and ensure timely completion of production schedules.
- Coordinate with design, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Manage raw material usage, waste reduction, and operational costs effectively.
- Enforce health and safety compliance throughout the production facility.
- Motivate and develop factory staff through training, mentorship, and performance management.
- 5+ years of proven managerial experience in a hands-on Factory or Production Manager role within the textile manufacturing industry.
- Specific homeware expertise is essential (e.g., bedding, cushions, and soft furnishings). Candidates focused solely on garments or apparel will not be considered.
- Demonstrated success in implementing time studies, line balancing, and efficiency systems within a production environment.
- Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practical application.
- A tertiary qualification in Textile Technology, Production Management, or Industrial Engineering is preferred; however, substantial and verifiable experience will also be highly regarded.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
