A leading FMCG company is looking for an experienced Key Accounts Manager with a strong background in managing wholesale accounts, building long-term client relationships, and driving business growth to join their team in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. This role requires a results-driven professional with excellent negotiation, forecasting, and leadership skills, capable of operating in a complex and competitive market environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead the account management cycle by developing and maintaining strong relationships with key wholesale clients.
Achieve target sales volumes and maximize profit margins within assigned accounts.
Develop national sales plans, analyze market potential, and accurately forecast revenue on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis.
Balance company objectives with customer requirements, identifying opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
Conduct demand analysis, track sales trends, and address variances in client activity.
Respond to client correspondence on service levels, product quality, specifications, and pricing.
Evaluate competitor activities and identify opportunities to strengthen market presence.
Ensure customer satisfaction through problem-solving, service excellence, and proactive client engagement.
Oversee people management responsibilities including team performance, training, development, and employee engagement.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver cost-effective solutions that enhance client relationships.
Monitor overdue accounts, resolve escalated customer issues, and enforce compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualification in a Commercial field.
5–7 years of experience in Sales, preferably in the FMCG environment.
Proven experience in managing key accounts or wholesale clients.
Strong analytical, forecasting, and negotiation skills.
Computer literacy with solid reporting and data interpretation skills.
Valid driver’s licence.
