Position: Industrial Designer

Location: Cape Town, South Africa

RPO Recruitment's client, in the packaging industry, are currently seeking a talented and creative Industrial Designer to join their team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative individual with a passion for packaging design.

Responsibilities:

• Develop innovative and functional packaging designs that meet client requirements and market trends
• Collaborate with clients, sales team, and production staff to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective
• Utilize design software and tools to create 2D and 3D renderings of packaging concepts
• Prototype and test packaging designs to ensure durability and efficiency
• Stay abreast of industry trends and competitor products to inform design decisions
• Present design concepts to clients and internal stakeholders for feedback and approval
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to source materials and ensure quality control

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field
• 3+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods industry
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD
• Strong conceptual and technical skills with the ability to turn ideas into practical designs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and sustainability practices in packaging design
