An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Key Account Manager within a Food Manufacturing company based in Johannesburg.

The incumbent should be able to analyse data and sales statistics and improve business and marketing strategies. Ultimately, an exceptional key account manager should be able to manage multiple key accounts without compromising on the quality of services provided. This role requires a range of skills from closing sales and nurturing relationships to strategic planning and cross-functional leadership.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Achieve Monthly / Annual / GP targets.
  • Plan how to achieve sales targets for allocated customers.
  • Analyse customer sales performance by product and formulate plans to counteract opposition activities.
  • Plan territory calls as per call cycle (time utilization)
  • Identify new business opportunities and formulate a sales plan accordingly.
  • Provide a high level of customer service on all levels.
  • Correct Gross Profit targets as required.
  • Continuous follow-up on plans/opportunities and orders
  • Price negotiations
  • Negotiate orders within given and approved parameters.
  • Initiate ad-hoc activities (presentations, innovation days, hosting of international principles etc.)
  • Discuss sales performance (with purchasing) and issues with customers.
  • Provide technical advice and solutions where possible.
  • Identify sales opportunities and follow these to realization.
  • Increase the basket of products sold to customers.
  • Work closely with product management and innovations department to develop current and future opportunities.
  • Accurate completion of monthly reports
  • Collect/assist with debtor’s payment where necessary.
  • Attend stock takes.
  • Provide documentation for new accounts including credit application form-new and updates.
  • Attend sales meetings/conferences and training courses.

Requirements:

  • Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans (speak, read, write, and understand)
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing/Sales/Business
  • Driver’s licence (code 08)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales
  • Product knowledge of the meat & food industry
  • Excellent sales & communication skills
  • Au fait with processed product manufacturing
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literacy: MSOffice, QlikView and Syspro
