A well-established manufacturing company based in Goodwood, Cape Town is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual with a passion for ensuring optimal equipment performance, leading maintenance teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining the highest safety and operational standards across the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all maintenance activities to ensure efficient operation of plant equipment and machinery.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and improve equipment longevity.
  • Lead and mentor maintenance teams to achieve operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and service contracts.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize plant performance and reduce downtime.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process efficiency.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance principles and techniques.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of technical expertise in various maintenance areas (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work on-call or overtime when necessary.
