A well-established manufacturing company based in Goodwood, Cape Town is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual with a passion for ensuring optimal equipment performance, leading maintenance teams, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining the highest safety and operational standards across the facility.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all maintenance activities to ensure efficient operation of plant equipment and machinery.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and improve equipment longevity.
- Lead and mentor maintenance teams to achieve operational excellence and adherence to safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and other technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and service contracts.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize plant performance and reduce downtime.
- Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process efficiency.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance principles and techniques.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- High level of technical expertise in various maintenance areas (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work on-call or overtime when necessary.
