A leading packaging manufacturer in Durban is seeking a motivated Stores Team Leader to join their operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong stock management and supervisory skills, looking to take the next step in their career with the potential to grow.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Stock Management & Control
    • Oversee the storage, handling, and movement of finished goods.
    • Ensure accurate stock levels are maintained and reconciled.
    • Monitor and manage stock rotation to minimise losses and ensure efficiency.

  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure all activities comply with safety, housekeeping, food safety, and quality standards.
    • Enforce adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
    • Drive continuous improvement in store safety and compliance practices.

  • Team Supervision & Scheduling
    • Lead and supervise the finished goods stores team.
    • Prepare staff schedules and allocate tasks to ensure smooth operations.
    • Monitor day-to-day workflow and resolve operational issues effectively.

  • Staff Performance Management
    • Track, review, and manage employee performance.
    • Provide guidance, corrective actions, and performance feedback to improve productivity.
    • Foster a culture of accountability and teamwork within the department.

  • Training & Development
    • Identify training needs and provide coaching to develop staff capability.
    • Support succession planning by preparing team members for future growth.
    • Build a high-performing team aligned with business objectives.


Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or stores environment.

  • SAP experience would be highly advantageous.

  • Strong supervisory skills with proven leadership ability.

  • Must own a car and be willing to travel if required.

  • Well-versed in safety, quality, and stock management practices.

  • Fluent in English, with strong communication and organisational skills.
