RPO Recruitment is actively seeking a skilled Setter to join our client, in Philippi, Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to ensure optimal machine settings, conduct fault analysis, and maintain production equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
- Identify, report, and rectify technical issues on assigned production equipment, including molds and machinery.
- Ensure machines are correctly set for optimal performance and cycle times.
- Conduct fault analysis and problem-solving for product quality issues, mold issues, and mechanical malfunctions (hydraulic, pneumatic, electric).
- Develop and follow maintenance plans to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Identify and report spare parts requirements and assist in ordering processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance, repairs, and machine settings.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Production Managers to ensure machine availability and efficiency.
- Uphold health and safety standards and maintain housekeeping in the work area.
- Contribute to process improvements and technical innovation within the company.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
- Minimum N2 in Tool, Jig & Die trade theory.
- Trade-tested (Red Seal) qualification preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant setting experience in an injection molding/blow molding environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to act decisively and maintain standards in a fast-paced environment.
