A well-established manufacturing company based in Durban is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Setter to join their production team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled individual with mechanical studies and hands-on manufacturing experience to build their career within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up production machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Support senior setters with adjustments, tooling changes, and preparation of equipment.
• Monitor machines during production to ensure consistent quality and performance.
• Identify and report mechanical or operational issues promptly.
• Ensure minimal downtime by assisting with quick changeovers and adjustments.
• Contribute to achieving daily and weekly production targets.
• Maintain product quality standards by performing routine checks and inspections.
• Assist in resolving quality concerns related to machine settings.
• Follow company procedures to ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and ensure machines are kept in optimal condition.
• Report breakdowns or faults to the relevant maintenance team.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines on the shop floor.
• Work closely with senior setters, machine operators, and supervisors.
• Participate in training and development initiatives to improve technical knowledge.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum N3 Mechanical Studies completed.
• At least 2 years’ manufacturing experience.
• Stretch blow moulding experience will be an advantage.
