Responsibilities:
- People Management
- Inspire and empower employees to operate independently through effective upskilling and demonstrate strong delegation and participative management skills.
- Commit to using and maintaining the company’s people management tool – JBP (will advise).
- Plan workforce needs, recruit effectively, and build a cohesive team environment.
- Administration
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports, budgets, and maintenance systems.
- Ensure all Project Management administration is accurate and efficient and ensure Task Management and completion of tasks in a timely manner.
- Operations
- Manage daily mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and crushing, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, collaborating with the Health and Safety team and liaising with the DMRE.
- Work with the Finance team, driving cost-saving initiatives and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Requirements:
- Matric
- National Diploma / Degree in Mining Engineering or related field of study
- Opencast Blasting Certificate
- Supervisor / Management Qualification
- Mine Managers Certificate recommended
- 10 - 15 years’ experience working in an open cast mining production environment
- 3 – 5 years in a Management leadership role.
- 3 – 5 years’ managing daily mining activities, including drilling, blasting, and crushing, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity
- Proven leadership in managing diverse teams.
- Project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor mining activities.
- Familiarity with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA) (preferred).
- Strong computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and related packages.
