A well-established organisation in the manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join their team in Klipriver, Gauteng. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive professional to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, while fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the business. The ideal candidate will be confident in conducting risk assessments, investigations, and safety training, ensuring adherence to both legal and company requirements. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in line with legal requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, and incident investigations, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations through regular site inspections and audits.
• Deliver safety training, awareness sessions, and toolbox talks to employees.
• Maintain SACPCMP registration and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Compile and submit safety statistics, records, and reports as required.
• Work closely with management and staff to promote a positive safety culture.
• Ensure all contractors and visitors comply with safety protocols.

Requirements

• Grade 12.
• SAMTRAC / SHEMTRAC or NEBOSH certification.
• Safety-related training such as Incident Investigation, HIRA, etc.
• SACPCMP Registration.
• Proven experience as a Safety Officer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
