Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Procurement Specialist within a food manufacturer company based in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Procurement projects to tender for goods and/or services in own area of responsibility
  • This comprises supplier selection based on requirements defined by the corresponding functional owners, market analysis, Non-Disclosure Agreements, requests for information, requests for quotation, commercial negotiation, supplier selection, contract preparation and signing and implementation Vendor Management
  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
  • Build trust with key suppliers to achieve better pricing and quality of services and efficiencies
  • Assist with implementation of Procurement Strategy and Policies
  • Perform category management including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract, performance, and risk management
  • Identify and drive savings, discounts, and rebates
  • Address any supplier issues to ensure highest level of service delivery
  • Risk Management
  • BBBEE Strategy Implementation
  • Assist by executing effective negotiation process with preferred suppliers
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
  • Conducting spend analyses across respective global supply markets
  • Conducting market research and data analyses and presentation

Requirements

  • University Degree / Diploma, in Supply Chain, Procurement, or similar
  • Computer literate – MS Office – ADVANCED
  • 3 or more years operational experience in a Supply Chain/Procurement environment
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
  • Working experience in infant, powder production environment or FMCG would be advantageous
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet changing deadlines
  • Knowledge of Supply chain & Procurement processes
  • Preferably International procurement experience
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize projects
Benefits 
  • Salary: R550K/yr - R650K/yr, negotiable
