A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman to produce detailed, production-ready technical drawings and support product development within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

• Producing accurate and detailed technical drawings from concept through to complete 3D manufacturing drawings

• Interpreting client requirements and translating design concepts into production-ready drawings

• Designing, rendering, and detail designing of components and full assemblies

• Collaborating closely with Design and Production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability

• Updating and maintaining drawing registers and documentation control systems

• Revising and reworking existing designs based on client or production feedback

• Providing technical support to production, sales, and manufacturing teams

• Conducting site measurements and assisting with prototyping when required

• Liaising with suppliers regarding component specifications and material selection

• Researching, designing, and developing new product concepts

• Ongoing product development and enhancement of existing product ranges

• Preparing cost estimations for new and existing designs

• Comparing estimated versus actual project costs upon completion

• Performing all additional duties related to the role

Requirements:

• Relevant technical qualification (Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical or Architectural Draughting)

• Minimum 5 years’ practical experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial design environment

• Strong understanding of steel structures, joinery, plumbing systems, 12V electrical installations, solar panel integration, and mechanical components

• Proficiency in both Afrikaans and English (verbal and written)

• Advanced computer literacy (MS Excel and CAD software such as AutoCAD and Inventor)

• Own reliable transport
