Job Description
A specialised manufacturing company is looking for an experienced SHEQ Officer with strong knowledge of ISO-compliant integrated management systems. The ideal candidate will ensure full legal compliance, drive continuous SHEQ improvement, and support a safe, efficient and audit-ready environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with OHS legislation through inspections, audits and ongoing system updates.
Manage all external audits, including legal compliance, occupational risk and fire risk assessments.
Maintain and update the SHEQ Management System, policies, safety files and ISO documentation.
Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and implement safety controls.
Oversee incident investigations, reporting, COID processes and monthly SHE statistics.
Manage emergency preparedness, including PPE control, fire equipment, first aid and evacuations.
Lead SHE committees, internal audits, toolbox talks and workplace safety initiatives.
Plan and coordinate SHE-related training, including inductions for staff, contractors and visitors.
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) plus SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or equivalent SHE qualification.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a SHEQ environment.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
Strong reporting, communication and MS Office skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and perform under pressure.
