A well-established manufacturing company based in Epping, Cape Town is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and results-driven professional to oversee the entire supply chain process—from the procurement of raw materials to the shipment of finished products. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills, ensuring that operations run efficiently and cost-effectively within a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities- Manage and optimize the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, and distribution.
- Develop and implement effective supply chain strategies to meet business objectives and improve overall efficiency.
- Liaise with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct demand forecasting, and ensure stock availability aligns with production requirements.
- Negotiate with vendors and service providers to achieve favorable terms and maintain strong relationships.
- Prepare and present supply chain reports, metrics, and performance analyses to management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance.
- Manage and motivate the supply chain team to achieve departmental goals.
- Coordinate shipments and resolve any logistics or transportation issues efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement, logistics, and inventory control processes.
- Proven ability to manage logistics across multiple stages of the supply chain.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to work outside normal business hours when required.
